Training Feedback:
I gained a deeper understanding of the diverse characteristics and challenges individuals with ASD may face. Specifically, I learned about the wide range of behaviors and communication differences that can manifest within the spectrum.
I like to think it would help me and others to get a more in depth profile of an ASD young person. To help them feel less anxious and more engaged in what they are doing. Giving them more say and choice.
Jan delivered the training with great knowledge and enthusiasm with everything discussed with the best interests of the child at all times.
Before taking the course, I had a limited understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). However, through the training, I've learned several enlightening things about ASD that have significantly broadened my knowledge: for example: Social communication challenges, Sensory Sensitivities and Strengths and Abilities. Overall, the course provided me with a deeper understanding of ASD, dispelling misconceptions and highlighting the diverse needs and capabilities of individuals on the autism spectrum. It emphasises the importance of empathy, acceptance, and tailored support in fostering inclusivity and empowering individuals with ASD to thrive.
